Today I heard MARMOTSat’s VHF CW transmission on 145.875 MHz as it passed overhead. It’s around 15 WPM of CQ DE VA7UVS CO-128 QRO 2 WATTS ANT DIPOLE WWW.MARMOTSAT.CA as of today.

I don’t have a proper setup to receive CW (no beat frequency oscillator), so I just went 700 Hz down from the carrier on USB and heard the Morse telemetry pretty clearly with my handheld.

Tomorrow is the day I do my HF practical assessment ahead of the amateur radio exam in October. Nervous, but excited!

I’ll have a much better setup once I have my licence and start transmitting to amateur satellites.
